Introduction

Hello everyone! My name is Lauryn Texidor and I am currently a senior at USM. I am from Las Vegas, Nevada and  I absolutely love everything to do with fashion and new trends. I am very excited about obtaining a degree in fashion merchandising so I can pursue my dream of becoming a buyer.

My learning objectives include understanding every dynamic of social media, and the influence it has on fashion merchandising. I also would like to know the limitations of social media and how it affects its audience. With this in mind, my learning plan consist of extensive research, and the use of my own social media accounts to better understand this subject. I strongly feel the use of this knowledge will help me pursue my career by giving me a better understanding of the audience involved. I have a personal/professional goal to travel the world while pursuing my career. I would love to some day be able to travel to Paris, Italy, or Greece and understand the differences in fashion abroad.

My strengths and weaknesses coincide with each other. I can tend to be introverted, timid, or reserved when I am put in a new or intimidating situation. However I can be very enthusiastic, open-minded, and joyful once I am comfortable with my surroundings. In all, I love meeting new people and learning new things. My favorite social media tools include instagram, pinterest, youtube and snapchat. From this class I hope to accomplish better social media skills, and greater use of it through this blog .
